REACH.

At Valley, we strive to live out the Great Commission through three simple words:

REACH • TEACHEQUIP

WHAT IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD?

What is the Kingdom of God like? Jesus describes it in Luke 15:11-32 as a family—a family of broken and estranged relationships that are being restored to love and unity. In this example, Jesus mentions three main characters: the younger son, the older son, and the Father.

According to Jesus’ story of the Kingdom of God, the younger son leaves home and does not know where he belongs. The Father (representing God) reaches out to him, and with his loving embrace welcomes him home—and restores him to the family.

  • We long to REACH the lost and broken.

  • We desire to REACH those who do not know the HOPE of Jesus Christ with the good news.

  • We believe that no one is too far from the grace and forgiveness of God.

  • We want to REACH those who feel unlovable with the LOVE of God the Father through Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that salvation through Jesus Christ is for all people who call on the name of the Lord.

WHO ARE WE TRYING TO REACH?

OUR MISSION: TO REACH. TEACH. EQUIP. - EVERY GENERATION

REACH WHO?

We long to REACH those who do not know the hope of Jesus Christ. Like the father in the story of lost son, we don’t merely run out to meet the lost with a hug, but we partner with God to reinstate them into the family. We welcome them home, and then throw them a party. We love them with such intentionality, that we continue to pursue a relationship with them. We REACH with love in order to open the door of their hearts to the truth of who Jesus Christ is.

REACH IN LOVE & TRUTH

We believe we are called to REACH the unchurched and prodigals by being ambassadors for Christ to urge them to return to God (2 Corinthians 5:20). We do this by welcoming them home like the father embraced his lost son in Luke 15 (he lavished love on his son and threw him a party). We would identify these people as those who have never experienced the love of Christ, and those who have left church due to being hurt by church culture in the past.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

PERCENTAGE OF REDDING NOT ATTENDING CHURCH

Out of the nearly 92,000 people who live in Redding, over 67,000 people are not involved with a local church each week. We are commissioned by Jesus to go into all the world to share the good news of Jesus, but we need to start first by REACHING people in our own neighborhoods and streets. As we go out into our neighborhoods and workplaces we will be able to share the love of Jesus with those who desperately need to hear His message of HOPE.

A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR TRAVIS

LEAD PASTOR: TRAVIS OSBORNE

"Welcome to VCFamily! We would love to have you join us in person or online. We are simply a gathering of real people seeking to know God more and love one another deeply. If we can be of any help, please feel free to contact us."

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, that He was conceived and born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and sacrificed Himself to be punished in substitution for sinners. By the blood of His cross and His resurrection from the dead, He obtained for us eternal redemption, the forgiveness of sins, and life everlasting. He was raised bodily and ascended to the right hand of the Father. He will return to the earth personally and visibly to consummate His kingdom.
