WHAT IS HEART TO HEART?
Heart to Heart is a new ministry that offers women the opportunity to connect one on one with another woman at Valley in the hope of creating a deep and lasting friendship.
We have so much to share with one another, whether it is a life experience, a hobby or skill, or just a listening ear and a loving heart…we need each other!
WHY
We have all felt detached and lonely at times, especially during the pandemic, and we long for connection and encouragement. And with the current restrictions on large gatherings, it is the perfect time to connect one on one!
“Heart to Heart” can help foster new friendships. Another aspect of the ministry is to connect different generations, so if you choose to, you could be paired with someone older or younger than you.
ABOUT
The pairings will last for 6 weeks at a time and then, if you like, you will have the opportunity to make another friendship. Together you can decide how often you connect and what you do together. Maybe it is going to coffee, walking, crafting or canning or it could be as simple as a phone call or text and praying together. Whatever you choose to do, the result could be a new friend.
OUR VISION
It is our prayer that mentoring relationships may eventually grow from this ministry. Those relationships are very special and
God-ordained. They stem from a natural connection between two ladies and are very meaningful and impactful. While they require a deeper level of commitment and communication, they are a wonderful source of wisdom and blessing.

No. There is no registration fee and you and your partner can decide what you do together. There are plenty of things to do without spending a lot of money.

Yes! There are 3 opportunities – Fall • Winter • Summer
You don't have to know how to be a mentor, just how to be a friend. And that’s where it starts. God will determine the rest. Heart to Heart is about creating relationship. It is NOT a formal mentoring program with a regimented process. It is simply getting together and getting to know each other. Sharing, caring, listening, and encouraging.
Not at all. Ask your partner if she would prayerfully consider being your mentor and let her know how you picture the relationship. How often would you meet? How do you hope to grow? Is there something specific that you would like to learn? Mentoring means different things to different people, so describe what you are thinking the relationship would look like so that there is mutual understanding and expectation.
Although it doesn’t happen very often, there is a chance that you may not have much in common with your partner. That’s okay. Realize that God has brought you together for this short time for a reason and make the best of it! Most of all, know that this new friend is sacrificing time and energy on this relationship, so honor that effort and be respectful.
Unfortunately no. This is a special time for you to meet a new lady in the church and maybe even build a lasting relationship with her. This is something you are doing for YOU! Your children would probably be a distraction. However, after you are more acquainted, you could discuss the option of having children there.
It just takes a phone call to decide how you will connect and how often. Maybe you two just want to communicate with phone calls. Or you could go out for coffee or lunch. Or maybe you want to do something together like walking, crafting, or even canning! It is all up to you two.
